It is the original massage technique that uses oils, involving a sequence of movements working superficially and deeper into the tissue layers.

It is one of the easiest ways of attaining and maintaining good health and something we do naturally. It is a healing instinct, innate in us all, to rub an aching shoulder or stubbed toe. By using oils and gentle manipulation, the power of touch eases our troubled minds, relieves aches and pains and provides a feeling of true relaxation.

Deep Tissue Massage is an uplifting and energizing massage that stimulates circulation and generates an immediate sense of well-being. This massage concentrates on trigger  deep tissue work. These techniques are designed to help the functioning of the muscles more effectively, aid lymphatic drainage and to offer a much deeper tissue massage thoroughly and safely with control.

Course content:

Full practical demonstration and guidance throughout the days.

Full demonstration of deep tissue massage

Techniques on stretching and working out muscle knots,

Health and Safety at Work Law ,

Sterilisation and Hygiene in the salon,

Data Protection, History of Massage,

Anatomy and Physiology relating to the course you are studying.

Consultation process and an example of the consultation card.

Contra-indications and how to recognise them,

Contra-actions,

Licensing requirements if required.

Professionalism/ Code of Ethics,

Local Bylaws that may affect your business e.g. treating minors.

There will be continuous formative assessments takes place during the day while you practise and take information from your tutor.
