Gel Polish Manicure

Gel Polish Manicure

The purpose of a Gel Polish Manicure is to help either look after the nails once they are long and strong but also to help the nails get to that position. A good therapist will be able to recognise any disorders or conditions of the nail that need additional medical treatments or problems they can deal with or advise on themselves.

They can help with the circulation and temperature in the hand by doing good hand massage involving the arm also. This can also help with the flexibility of the fingers and wrist and hand. The manicure can help improve the strength and shape of the nail. Improving the shape helps prevent ingrown nails or nails lifting from the bed.

It also removes lose or dead skin, pushes back the cuticles and also improves their overall appearance.

This course will be delivered using the individual tutors own preferred Gel Polish system (shellac), when you contact then you can ask them what system you will be using on the day. However upon completion you will be qualified and insured to deliver the treatment using whichever system you choose.

The purpose of a using a gel polish (shellac)  instead of a regular varnish is that it is recommended to last up to two weeks without chipping.

Gel nail polish isn’t an extension, it is a specially formulated nail varnish that is applied to the natural nail and cured under ultraviolet or LED light. Curing means that a chemical process takes place which occurs when the photo-initiators within the gel varnish itself are exposed to the UV or LED light. It creates heat while the oligomers combine to form long chains during the polymerization process.

These bonds of chains make the gel varnish become hard. Any sticky layer residue can be removed by a specially formulated product available from most gel polish suppliers.
