The purpose of a pedicure is to help either look after the nails once they are long and strong but also to help the nails get to that position.
A good therapist whilst doing a pedicure will be able to recognise any disorders or conditions of the nail that need additional medical treatments or problems they can deal with or advise on themselves. They can help with the circulation and temperature in the feet by doing good foot and leg massage. This can also help with the flexibility of the toes and ankle.
The pedicure can help improve the strength and shape of the nail. Improving the shape helps prevent ingrown nails or nails lifting from the bed. It also removes lose or dead skin, pushes back the cuticles and also improves their overall appearance.
Full practical demonstration and guidance throughout the day: checking the feet, cutting the nails, filing nails, working on areas of hard skin, soaking the feet, massage, paraffin wax treatment (optional depending on venue) or deep heat treatment and painting the nails.
